Amazon deleted mentions of body cams from its site after the ACLU raised the issue. There are other known clients outside of law enforcement as well, as facial recognition technology has a wide range of possible uses. Leaders of the ACLU are calling the facial recognition 'dangerous'. The ACLU says , " People should be free to walk down the street without being watched by the government". (more...)

Three republicans in the Senate, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and John Kennedy of Louisiana, joined Senate democrats in their vote to save net neutrality. Reaction at the FCC followed a predictable script. Chairman Ajit Pai stood by the ending of the Obama-era rules. Reports suggest officials of the finance ministry have held a meeting with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to take stock of the situation. In next couple of days, we'll have the supply of about 2,500 crore of Rs 500 notes per day. In these states, people are cutting bank and ATMs with cash, but they have to return home after being frustrated. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has conceded that the country was facing a cash crunch but added that the crisis was only temporary. (more...)

All 30 Dow Jones Industrial Average components were lower in premarket trading. Most of the Dow finished in positive territory, with Home Depot, Microsoft and Nike all winning more than two percent. The S&P 500 fell 56 points, or 2.1 percent, to 2,607. Stocks are falling again as trade tensions heat up between the USA and China. Their large dividend payments make those stocks similar to bonds, and investors find the stocks more appealing in times of turmoil and falling bond yields. (more...)

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday kept its key policy rate unchanged, but lowered its inflation projection for FY19 reducing the odds of an interest rate hike in the near term.
