The new season of Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ will drop July 4

Netflix Announces ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Premiere Date (Watch)

"But I can only promise you that season 3 eventually goes places that are darker, and unquestionably more action-packed, than we've ever gone before", Levy said in a previous interview.

This version, however, is hosted by a Hawkins, Indiana TV channel - 5 WIYZ - and brought to you by Starcourt Mall, where we already know most of Season 3 will be set.

Stranger Things is kicking off the New Year in style.

After months of anticipation and clues as to what fans can expect from season three of Netflix's Stranger Things the trailer and official premiere date is finally here.

Just as the camera pans to "one of the biggest crowds" the New Year's Eve celebration has ever seen, the video bugs out and shows a screen of text, which glitches as it highlights words to create the phrase "when blue and yellow meet in the West". They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did a year ago. What could that mean for our returning cast that includes Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Mattarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalie Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink? The poster shows Dustin, Max, and Lucas ogling at fireworks in the sky, while Mike stares at Eleven, who is distracted by something ominous and out of frame.

The tagline reads: 'One summer can Change everything'.

Perfectly timed, the New Year's Eve teaser gives us a flawless retro feel of Dick Clark's annual celebrations, before instilling a mounting sense of dread and creepiness.

Cary Elwes and Jake Busey will join the series in guest star roles.
