How Meghan Markle's royal curtsy has improved a year on

Their Sandringham appearance had been eagerly awaited

They will leave Kate Middleton and Prince William behind for Frogmore House in the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the Queen lives.

The Duchess of Sussex was joined by husband Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family for their annual walk to church services in the English countryside.

The former "Suits" star could be seen placing a protective hand on Kate's back as the pair made their way inside the gates.

They start off with a full English breakfast, before Prince Philip leads the stroll to the Church of St Mary Magdalene for the 16th century church's festive service.

People shouted "Merry Christmas" to the royal party as they went by and later the Sussexes and Cambridges greeted people, accepting gifts of flowers and chatting to people.

It is understood the duke is in good health and will spend the day relaxing privately with his family.

The Duchess of Cornwall is believed to be recovering from a heavy cold that forced her to miss an appearance at last week's Olympia Horse Show.

The Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex have been dogged by rumours they aren't bosom buddies for months.

It comes ahead of the Christmas Day service at Sandringham tomorrow, which is expected to see thousands descend on the estate to catch a glimpse of the Royal family.

Sales of the photo have allowed her to clear her debts and take a year off from work.

Last year, she became the first non-married partner to be invited to Christmas lunch at Sandringham with the Queen.

This Christmas marks Meghan's first as a member of the royal family.

Rumors over Kate and Meghan's alleged strained relationship have run rampant in recent weeks, even causing Kensington Palace to issue a rare statement after The Sun claimed the sisters-in-law had an argument over the way Meghan reportedly treated Kate's staff before her May nuptials to Prince Harry.
