NBA Report: Cavs Players Upset By Kyle Korver Trade to Utah 3

REPORT: Cavs Trade Kyle Korver to Jazz for Alec Burks, 2 Future 2nd-Round Picks

The 37-year-old Korver is headed back to Utah, where he played from 2007-10. Burks, 27, had averaged 8.4 points in 15 minutes a game for Utah this season. They presently have a 10-12 record, the third-worst mark in the conference, but they're within two games of the team now in the seventh spot, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Korver has made 2,238 career 3-pointers, fourth-most in National Basketball Association history and tops among current players.

Burks, meanwhile, leaves the only franchise he has ever known.

In three seasons with Cleveland, he averaged 9.3 points per game, mostly scoring his points from jumpers and three-point shots.

Korver was one of the most coveted players on the market, and the Cavs have been shopping him along with forward J.R. Smith, who agreed to step away from the team after being unhappy with his reduced role this season.

However, the forte of his game, has been as a slasher rather than a shooter - he is a career 42.5-percent shooter from the field, and a 35.5-percent shooter from deep. In return, they'll be sending Alec Burks and two future second round drafts picks to the Cavs.

"I was shocked when he told me", said Jazz rookie Grayson Allen.

"Everyone was a little bit surprised", Allen said before the Jazz's road game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. "But that's how it goes".

"I'm someone who takes pride in shooting the ball, and I'm sure I can learn a lot from him, what he does to prepare, and from what I know of his game, he's great moving without the ball", Allen added. However, I'm not sure anybody saw a change coming this quickly, yet here we are. He will make $7.56 million this year and has $7.5 million on his deal for next year, although less than half of it is guaranteed.

Burks is making $11.3 million this season and will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
