Brazil 1-0 Cameroon: Neymar goes off injured as Brazil win friendly

PSG player Neymar off injured v Cameroon

Paris Saint-Germain have injury concerns over Kylian Mbappe and Neymar ahead of their crucial Champions League clash with Liverpool next week.

Brazil forward Neymar had to be withdrawn after just eight minutes of his side's global friendly against Cameroon.

A 1v1 challenge with Uruguay goalkeeper Martin Campana felled the 19-year-old Mbappe, and France coach Didier Deschamps did not have a decent prognosis.

Brazil's Neymar limped out of their 1-0 friendly win over Cameroon after tweaking his groin as he shot at goal with seven minutes gone.

Neymar believes the injury he sustained is "nothing serious", while - after the game - Brazil boss Tite would not discuss the injury.

On Wednesday, PSG announced that Mbappe has a bruised shoulder, while scans on Neymar showed a right adductor strain.

PSG sit third in Group C, one point behind Liverpool who are equal on points with first-placed Napoli.

After the match, Brazilian team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, said "it's too early" to give a definitive diagnosis regarding Neymar's injury, given that "it'll need 24 hours to know exactly what's happened".

"Thank you to everyone who sent messages wishing me a speedy recovery, I don't think it's serious", Neymar wrote on Instagram.

While signs for his availability for the potentially make-or-break Liverpool match are positive, a source told ESPN FC he is likely to miss PSG's Ligue 1 match against Toulouse on Saturday.

The Brazil captain was withdrawn after only eight minutes of action, though replacement Richarlison went on to score the only goal of the game.
