Former England manager Glenn Hoddle 'seriously ill'

Glenn Hoddle rushed to hospital after collapsing at BT Sport studios

Hoddle, 61, was taken "seriously ill" after appearing on BT as a pundit on Saturday, the BBC Sport.

BT presenter Jake Humphrey said Hoddle was "taken seriously ill at the BT Sport studio this morning". Today's show has since been cancelled.

Following Hoddle's collapse, the decision was taken to postpone the BT Sport Score show, which Hoddle was due to appear on at 2.45pm.

"Everyone of us is right with you Glenn, sending love and strength".

Hoddle spent 12 years with Tottenham, where he was considered one of England's most technically gifted players. He was a schoolboy at Tottenham when I was there and he was the star player that we all looked up to and could never get near.

Hoddle was devastated when his brother Carl, who played for Barnet and Leyton Orient, died after collapsing at his home in Hertfordshire.

Glenn Hoddle is reported to be in a serious condition in hospital after falling ill at a TV studio this morning.

"His family are with him and would like to thank everyone for their support".

"I worked under him when he was manager as one of his coaches, so certainly my thoughts and prayers are with him".

He then had spells managing Swindon and Chelsea before taking charge of England between 1996 and 1999.

England captain Harry Kane also sent a message, in conjunction with Tottenham, writing: "Thoughts are with Glenn Hoddle".

He scored eight goals in 53 games for England and managed the national team at the 1998 World Cup before pursuing a career as a pundit after his last managerial job at Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2006.

He has three children Zara, Jamie and Zoe from his first marriage.

Hoddle married second wife Vanessa Colbourn since 2000.
