Is Mueller getting set to deliver key findings in Russian Federation probe?

Robert Mueller

"I'm not willing to go on endlessly" before sentencing Manafort, he added.

As expected, the judge also dismissed 10 remaining counts against Manafort that had deadlocked the jury at his trial earlier this year. The Special Counsel's Office also said it would not oppose Ellis' new timetable.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is nearly ready to present his findings after months of investigation on two key aspects of the Trump-Russia probe, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.

"I have not heard any estimation from the government of when his cooperation will be complete", Ellis said, referring to the special counsel investigation.

The court will issue a verdict in the first trial of Manafort in which he is accused of Bank fraud and tax evasion.

A date has been decided for the sentencing of political operative Paul Manafort.

Manafort still may face an initial sentence of a decade or more in prison. But Judge T.S. Ellis expressed concerns about any further delay of the sentencing.

President Donald Trump has continued to complain that the investigation is unfounded and a waste of taxpayer money, but one of the complicating factors surrounding its completion date is the fact that his legal team is still working on providing written answers to Mueller's questions.

Prosecutors say Manafort falsified the documents, leaving off millions in income.

The charges largely predated Manafort's tenure on Trump's successful presidential campaign in 2016.

Manafort looked frail and had a foot elevated in a sock as he was wheeled in and out of court wearing a jumpsuit that read "ALEXANDRIA INMATE" on the back.

The plea allowed Manafort to avoid a second trial in exchange for his cooperation with Mueller's probe. He is experiencing a serious medical condition - inflammation that's related to his diet, a person familiar with Manafort's condition said.

Manafort had asked permission to wear a suit but Ellis rejected the request, saying he should be treated no differently from other defendants in custody post-conviction.
