Well, Pete Davidson joked about a possible breakup with Ariana Grande on "Saturday Night Live" two weeks ago.

14, 2018, TMZ reported that the high-profile couple have mutually chose to split up and call off their engagement after five months of dating.

Sources told TMZ the pair felt it was not the right time for their relationship to take off. "It's not shocking to anyone".

Grande and Miller dated for two years before she began seeing Davidson.

As of Sunday, Grande has not removed mentions and photos of Davidson from her social media accounts, but Davidson has disabled his social accounts.

At the time, a source even told People that, "It's a recent engagement".

Things took off quickly from there, as fans noticed they already had matching tattoos - but that was nothing compared to the online frenzy when they got engaged three weeks later. The two were spotted leaving 30 Rock at around noon on October 14, just hours before the news of their breakup went public.

Grande has been struggling recently with the death of ex Mac Miller, which came as she was still trying to cope with the bombing at her Manchester concert a year ago.

Over the weekend, Grande dropped out of a scheduled appearance at the F**k Cancer's inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes fundraising gala, hours before news broke of the split. News. "And you saw your invite, someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today".

USA TODAY has reached out to Davidson and Grande's representatives for comment.

Follwing the split, Ariana cancelled a performance at a charity event that was honouring her manager Scooter Braun's wife.
