Will Smith Teases New 'Aladdin' Movie With First Look At Poster

Will Smith

The teaser features our first glimpses of Mena Massoud as Aladdin, stumbling into the Cave of Wonder and finding the magical genie's lamp.

Will Smith gave the world its first look at the first tease for the "Aladdin" live-action remake Wednesday when he showed off a cryptic poster on Instagram.

"Aladdin" is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. We've been waiting a long time to see Will Smith's Genie, but he wasn't in the first look footage. The tagline reads, "Choose Wisely". HollywoodLife actually saw the first footage of the film back at CinemaCon in April 2018. Naomi and Mena looked flawless as Princess Jasmine and Aladdin.

Make way for another Disney live-action adaptation to hit the big screen.

Even among the likes of fellow Disney animated favorites, Aladdin feels like a tough act to match. Naomi Scott will play Jasmine, with Will Smith as the Genie (a role made famous by Robin Williams in the original film).

Guy Ritchie's film follows numerous same beats - Mena Massoud stars as the titular charming street rat who meets the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and a Smith's Genie who may be the key to their future. The live-action versions of The Lion King and Dumbo will also debut in 2019.
