Jose Mourinho ‘one loss from the sack’ at Man Utd

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

After Manchester United were hammered 3-0 at Old Trafford by Mauricio Pochettino's blistering Tottenham side, the 55-year-old "Special One" finds himself as the bookies' favorite to be the first manager sacked this season.

"Because we were not unsafe enough, because Sevilla deserved to win the match".

But when Harry Kane broke the deadlock with a free header from a corner early in the second half, United simply capitulated and were hit with a second Spurs goal in as many minutes.

United are said to be hopeful that Martial signs the new deal which has been offered despite the fact Mourinho has made it known he does not want the player. It's only August, but his third season at United could already be coming to an end.

"Do you know what this means?" he asked while holding up three fingers (h/t BBC).

The Irish bookmaker tweeted: "Manchester United were a shambles tonight".

Meanwhile, every paper in existence (probably) reported on his spectacular post-match press conference, in which he called for "respect" while highlighting the three Premier League titles he has won. "The club are going through a tough time but I don't see where they go after Mourinho". A year ago though saw United go an entire season without silverware, a rare occurrence for such a proud club.

United now lie 13th in the table as a result of losing two of their opening three games, but Giggs feels it's time for the club's fans to get behind Mourinho and the players. "I'm sure with the quality of players he will have a game plan to push for the title".

They went on to lift the title that season but Paddy Power are convinced Mourinho can not replicate Sir Alex Ferguson's success.
