Lyon continue to hope to convince Barcelona into a Yerry Mina deal

Mina could be on his way to Old Trafford

The Telegraph stated Everton's interest last week, although admitted the wage demands of the Argentina worldwide could be a problem, but Manchester United's continued pursuit of Leicester's Harry Maguire could get the ball moving in negotiations.

According to Sport Witness, Het Laatste Nieuws reports Toby "absolutely wants to leave Spurs" and the Red Devils are hopeful the claimed £65m deal can be completed before the transfer window shuts.

Yerry Mina's future is still uncertain.

Jair Mina also said that if the United deal did fall through, Everton would be the most likely alternative destination. But their bid of €30 million plus €4 million in variables was rejected.

Everton have already signed Lucas Digne from Barcelona, with Watford forward Richarlison having also arrived during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United look to be the favorites as they have agreed on personal terms with Mina and are actively looking to off-load some of their current defenders.

FC Barcelona's Sporting director responded to Mina's complaint about more game time by saying, "Yerry had a great World Cup, he will come here and we believe in him, that's why he's here". Really I don't know.

To sign Mina, they will face competition from Everton, as well as a host of other clubs. If Manchester United can sell Rojo, it frees up a spot for them to then sign the Colombian.

Mina is set to cost around £30million - less than half the price of Alderweireld and Maguire, and he will represent a big profit for Barca who only paid Palmeiras £10million for him in January. He didn't play a lot for Barcelona and struggled when he did.
