Joe Hart: Pep Guardiola wants 'solution' for Manchester City goalkeeper

Ireland underage international called up to Manchester City squad

"The players come back, try to do the basics and with the intention to make a good season".

City play Chelsea in the Community Shield on 5 August before opening their league campaign at Arsenal a week later.

The 31-year-old is third choice behind Ederson and Claudio Bravo, and there appears little chance of him playing.

Riyad Mahrez, who joined from Leicester City last week, was also on the flight, ready for his club debut in the friendly with Borussia Dortmund at Soldier Field on Friday.

A son of former Ireland underage worldwide and Coventry City midfielder Karl Wilson, Tyreke will join Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko and France World Cup victor Benjamin Mendy in the squad while new signing Riyad Mahrez will also make the trip stateside.

Jorginho played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli and Chelsea's new head coach was keen to be reunited with him at Stamford Bridge.

Guardiola said: "What happened last season was a effect of the work we did two seasons ago".

"English football receives an exceptional player".

Hart is back at City after unsuccessful loan spells at Torino and West Ham.

Germany winger Leroy Sane will join up with the squad when they land in the US and Patrick Roberts, Jack Harrison and Jason Denayer, who spent last season on loan, are also travelling.

"We tried but my advice always is that players should go where they want". All the best for him.

Manager Pep Guardiola was not expecting any of his World Cup players to join up with the squad but has been boosted by the news that Mendy and Portugal global Bernardo Silva will join the tour later next week.

"He's one of the most incredible professionals, I've ever met".

"I am not disappointed", said Guardiola.

"I know it is not easy for him what happened in the last period, but he's with us and tomorrow he's going to play".
