The National Weather Service had received more than 100 severe storm reports shortly after 6 p.m., including reports of baseball-size hail and wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour.

As of 8 p.m. ET, 496,777 customers in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and CT had lost electricity. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. The storms could bring flooding rains, damaging winds and hail.

It will be mostly sunny with afternoon thunderstorms in western CT today.

Even amid summertime temperatures, New England can't escape the possibility of extreme weather.

Another round of hail, thunderstorms and rain will hit Denver early Tuesday afternoon, forecasters say. As of 6:30 Tuesday morning much of the state is in a slight to marginal risk which will increase as the day goes on.

WARNING: Severe weather is now or imminently happening. There will still be a chance for widely scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly along and south of Hwy. 60.

The storms will move east quickly in the afternoon and are expected to reach the I-95 corridor during the evening rush hour, likely between 5 and 7 p.m.

In the wake of Monday's storms, the Chicago area can expect muggy conditions and some minor fog.

Tuesday, we have to contend again with this troublesome frontal boundary.

We're still talking about the stationary front draped across the Mid Atlantic.

TODAY - Sunny Afternoon, Thunderstorms After 3PM, Could Be Strong To Severe.
