Mueller hints at obstruction in Trump questions

If Trump answers Mueller's questions it will 'end his presidency&apos

Separately, Giuliani told Bloomberg News that Trump's legal team "would be inclined" to allow Special Counsel Robert Mueller to interview the president.

Whether President Donald Trump will be the second as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe remains to be seen.

It was not immediately clear in what context the possibility of a subpoena was raised or how serious Mueller's prosecutors were about such a move.

Although Mueller's team has indicated to Trump's lawyers that he's not considered a "target" of the probe, investigators want to interview him about several episodes early in his term.

Facing critical decisions in the Russian Federation investigation, President Donald Trump has hired Emmet Flood, a veteran attorney who represented Bill Clinton during his impeachment process.

Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow declined to comment to the AP, as did White House lawyer Ty Cobb.

The lack of security clearances could further complicate already sensitive talks with Mueller's team.

Many legal observers believe that if Mueller issues a grand jury subpoena for Trump's testimony, the courts will order the President to comply, because the Supreme Court has repeatedly ordered presidents to comply with subpoenas. Trump initially said he was eager for an interview, but he hasn't said so recently.

The Times said it got the list from someone "outside Mr. Trump's legal team". "We all on both sides have some important decisions to make", Giuliani told the Post. Trump tweeted his frequent claim that the charge of collusion is a "hoax" but added something new: He said the probe for obstruction is a "setup & trap".

"Your investigation and others into the allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russian Federation are costing my family a great deal of money - more than $125,000 - and making a visceral impact on my children", Caputo said in a prepared statement that he delivered at the end of the Senate interview, which was provided to CNN.

The Post, citing four people familiar with the conversation, said the encounter quickly turned tense after the lawyers said Trump had no legal obligation to meet with the special counsel.

The questions are the clearest signal yet that Mueller has enough circumstantial evidence to suspect the president of obstruction, and also has reason to believe Trump might have known of the Russian Federation links. Some of Mr Trump's advisers have counselled that he could risk being accused of perjury if he submits to open-ended questioning from Mr Mueller and provides meandering answers.

The bulk of the questions focus on the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Trump's relationship with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom he has angrily criticized for recusing himself from the Russian Federation probe, and his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn. "No questions on Collusion", he said, "collusion that never existed". "It would seem very hard to obstruct justice for a crime that never happened!"

The questions do appear to indicate that Mueller is looking into possible collusion.

In one question, Mueller asks what Trump knew about campaign staff, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, reaching out to Moscow. Manafort is now facing a litany of charges under Mueller's investigation.
