Seahawks trade up to select punter Michael Dickson

Seahawks Select USC Defensive End Rasheem Green In Third Round Of 2018 NFL Draft

Coach Pete Carroll finally found his man in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft in former Washington Huskie, Will Dissly.

Flowers, 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds, was chosen in the fifth round with the 146th overall pick in the NFL Draft on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

National Football League teams don't keep two punters, so either Dickson is a huge flameout, or his selection marks the end of the road for Ryan, who has been with the Seahawks since 2008 and is the only player on the roster who predates the arrival of coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider in 2010. Dissly was a three-year starter at tight end for the Hawks and a two-year starter at defensive end.

Other NFL prospects such as receiver Jeff Badet (who ran a 4.27 40 at OU's pro day) cornerback Jordan Thomas (who was once labeled with first-round potential) and safety Steven Parker (a Tulsa native) also went undrafted.

Chandler started all four seasons at Temple.

But Brown, who will be 33 next season, is entering the final year of his contract and wants a new one anyday now, probably at more than the $9.75 million he's due to make in 2018. He ranks 14th in program history with 265 career tackles. A convert to tight end, he excelled in two seasons in Seattle. Keith Kirkwood signed with the New Orleans Saints, while Adonis Jennings signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Both of Temple's starting tackles signed with National Football League teams. He started 12 games in 2016 and had six sacks.

Okoronkwo capitalized on strong junior and senior seasons at Oklahoma, finishing past year with eight sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss as a 3-4 pass-rushing linebacker. The Raiders give franchise quarterback another weapon in the passing game, but will Bryant be an asset or a headache in Oakland like he was with the Steelers? He finished his senior year with 21 catches for 289 yards and the two scores against the Griz.

With a punting average of 44.2 yards, a mean hang-time and not one blocked punt, the former Aussie-Rules player was one of the best special teams players in the United States, frequently pinning opposition teams deep with accurate punting.
