North Carolina brewery serves up tarantula burger for Exotic Meat Month

Do you dare? Bull City offers 'tarantula burger' for Exotic Meat Month

- Arbitrary holidays and commemorative months have managed to fill our calendars with reasons to celebrate.

But while most of Bull City Burger's special menu items are available to all restaurant-goers - on a first-come, first-served basis - the Tarantula Burger is only awarded to lucky lottery winners.

Alongside the tarantula several other exotic meats are on offer, including camel, turtle, reindeer, rabbit, bugs and elk.

NBC affiliate WRAL checked out a burger with a tarantula stacked onto it at Bull City Burger and Brewery this week.

Daring diners can get a pasture-raised beef burger topped with Gruyere cheese, spicy chili sauce and an oven-roasted tarantula with fries for $30.

Adventurous eaters can't just walk in and order a tarantula burger, though.

At least three people have managed to successfully eat the burger and go home with the free T-shirt. The victor has two days to claim their burger. Once the ticket is drawn, customers have two days to respond.

It's Exotic Meat Month and a North Carolina brewery is taking the opportunity to introduce customers to all types of meats.
