The Rock is hosting a $300000 game of headquarters on Wednesday

New social features are coming to HQ Trivia

If you're playing the mobile trivia game in the United Kingdom, you can now see which friends and family members are playing at the same time as you through a new feature called "Friends on headquarters". The feature lets you search for your friends on HQ Trivia or by connecting the app with your phone's contacts. Headquarters regularly attracts more than a million players via its Android and iOS apps, where it hosts live, 12-question games at 3pm and 9pm ET on weekdays and 9pm ET on weekends.

The game introduced the feature in the United Kingdom on Tuesday with a planned rollout in the USA coming soon, the company said.

It will soon roll out to United States players as well but for now, you'll have to continue playing with strangers. Most Freemium bottlenecks occur when players get impatient and waiting ... But no longer! Because HQ is launching new social features. Imagine if just a year ago someone suggested that as part of a movie promo tour you've got to stop in on a trivia app?

Adding social functionality is a smart move for the game show, as this is a solid way to keep people inside its app to share their enthusiasm for the game with friends and family instead of migrating to other platforms like Facebook or Snapchat. Reportedly, representatives of HQ Trivia are pursuing sponsorship deals with major brands like Warner Bros. and Nike.

Now on Android, iPhone, and iPad, HQ still attracts millions of players each week, but this is certainly going to be a bit more popular than the typical 3PM game. The amount of money you can win depends on how many people join a game and how many are left at the end of the match. The cash prize, usually $2,500, is divided evenly among the winners. Winnings are automatically deposited into your PayPal account.
