Advertisers Ditch Fox News Host Accused of 'Crossing the Line of Decency'

Laura Ingraham Apologizes As Advertisers Bail Over Mockery Of Parkland Survivor

Nestle said it had "no plans to buy ads on the show in the future", while Stitch Fix, a clothing box subscription service, said it had pulled its advertisements.

In 1997 a The Washington Post op-ed, Ingraham announced she had changed her views on homosexuality, after witnessing "the dignity, fidelity, and courage" with which her gay brother Curtis coped with AIDS.

"*Waits till we boycott her advertisers to apologize* wow", Lauren Hogg tweeted.

Hulu said on Twitter: "We'd like to confirm that we are no longer advertising on Laura Ingraham's show and are monitoring all of our ad placements carefully".

The swift results showcase the power that the Parkland survivors have. "Really?" Hogg told The News.

That unyielding response has drawn plenty of its own critics, particularly from Ingraham's defenders on the right.

Ingraham apologized in a tweet the following day, citing "the spirit of Holy Week", and invited Hogg to appear on her show.

Ingraham on her show Friday night described the vacation as a pre-planned break with her children for the Easter holiday.

"I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight", Hogg tweeted. "She could have apologized for ages after that terrible tweet". She then published the transcript, outing many of them to classmates, and sent tapes of the meetings to the students' parents. Imagine if Ingraham, Hannity, and Carlson all used their shows to call publicly for boycotts of the company that have withdrawn ads from Ingraham's show.

On Tuesday, TMZ posted the video showing Hogg - who has become a prominent voice for gun control after 17 people were killed in a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School - as he reflected on a recent string of college rejection letters. I wonder what the fallout would be if one issued a split-the-difference statement saying that it thought Ingraham was boorish for taunting him over his college prospects but it also believes in forgiveness when remorse has been expressed, which it has in this case. Hogg, who has a 4.2 GPA and a SAT score of 1270, was accepted to Florida Atlantic University, California Polytechnic State University and California State University at San Marcos, TMZ reported.

But it was the same David Hogg who surprised again resorting to his new position as a public figure and his convening power to ask his followers to join a campaign to demand the sponsors of Ingraham's program to withdraw their support to the presenter. Ingraham said the teen was "whining" and called the rejections "totally predictable" given Hogg's GPA and SAT scores.

Ingraham has been under a social media siege of sorts from other responders since.
