Apple Releases iOS 11.3 With Battery Health Feature, New Animoji and More

Recently Apple has released its latest iOS 11.3 which is for iPhone, iPod, iPad.

Ahead of GDPR in Europe, Apple has released iOS 11.3, complete with a selection of privacy-focused tools. The iOS 11.3 is a major update with a long list of features which Apple has been promising for months. Before you install the iOS 11.3 update, ensure to connect your compatible Apple device to Wi-Fi. The update also includes the much talked about battery management feature that Apple said will allow users to have greater control over their devices. The new menu, which launches in beta, not only shows you how significantly your iPhone's battery has degraded since you bought it, but also lets you opt out of throttling processing power to extend longevity on a charge.

Additionally, users can now see if the power management feature that dynamically manages maximum performance to prevent unexpected shutdowns, first introduced in iOS 10.2.1, is on and can choose to turn it off.

The tech giant said its update includes a new way to "show battery health and recommend if a battery needs to be serviced". The interesting thing to know is that what is so unique about this new iOS 11.3 version.

Starting today, according to Apple officials, patients of leading health systems such as NYU Langone Health, Stanford Medicine and almost 40 others, representing hundreds of hospitals and clinics, can view their medical records right from their iPhone. The updated version of AR Kit is now able to detect and place objects on vertical surfaces, which is a huge step forward for Apple's AR platform. Business Chat is integrated with Maps, Safari and Siri, so users will find an option to chat with businesses via Messages or make a payment through Apple Pay. This feature will help users become more aware of their battery capacity.

In the wake of recent revelations around Facebook's handling of user data, and in the lead up to the incoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Apple is updating the way it informs users about how personal information is used.

There's a small chance that updating your software could delete your data or "brick" (i.e. render useless) your device, which means it's a really, really good idea to back it up.

The report notes the upcoming changes to Apple's website will let users correct personal information, temporarily deactivate their iCloud account, or even delete it completely.

Apple News makes it easier to stay up-to-date on the most important videos of the day with a new Video group in For You, and improved Top Stories. These new Animoji don't add any new functionality but are created using iPhone X's TrueDepth sensor that records facial expressions of the users.
