Hill, Nash, Kidd Among 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees

Phoenix Suns Grant Hill runs the length of the court in the third quarter of an NBA basketball game against the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday

Nash will be joined by Jason Kidd and Grant Hill as members of the 2018 class.

Jason Kidd, Steve Nash and Maurice Cheeks will also be a part of the 2018 class.

ESPN reports the trio has been notified that they will be inducted, but the formal announcement will come at a Final Four news conference in San Antonio this weekend. The Dallas Mavericks picked him one spot before Hill in the 1994 draft, and he played two stints in Dallas and won a championship in 2011.

Hill had arguably his best National Basketball Association days in Detroit, playing for the Pistons between 1994 and 2000, being selected to the All-Star game five times in a Pistons (teal) jersey. The 112.7 points per 100 possessions his 2009-10 Suns averaged were more than any team scored in 30 years until Golden State averaged 115.2 per 100 possessions two seasons ago. Nash last played in 2014, while Kidd and Hill last played in 2013.

In each of the nine seasons between 2001-02 and 2009-10, Nash was the catalyst behind the team that led the league in offensive efficiency.

Nash, a two-time MVP with Phoenix in 2005 and 2006, was a first-round pick by the Suns in 1996 and played for Phoenix from 1996-98, then again from 2004-12 after a run with the Dallas Mavericks. In his career, he averaged 16.7 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists and had a 48.3 field goal percentage.

Cheeks averaged 11.1 points and 2.1 steals per game and was the starting point guard for the 1983 champion Philadelphia 76ers.

In addition to his media work, Hill now serves on the NCAA's commission on college basketball, led by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, which is aimed at ridding college basketball of improper recruiting practices.
