Former Playboy Model Sues Media Group For Freedom To Talk About Trump

Not Released

Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal is taking a page out of Stormy Daniels' playbook - suing to throw out a 2016 legal agreement that bars her from speaking about an alleged tryst with Donald Trump. So tabloid giant American Media Inc.

It was Davidson, who allegedly recommended that McDougal go to A.M.I. with her story in the first place.

She told the New Yorker recently that her lawyer at the time, Keith Davidson, the same lawyer who represented porn actress Stormy Daniels, pushed her to sign the agreement.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, sued the president on March 6, stating Trump never signed an agreement for her to keep her quiet about an "intimate" relationship between them.

"AMI entered into the agreement with Ms. McDougal in coordination with Michael Cohen, an agent of the Trump campaign, and for the goal of influencing the 2016 presidential election", the suit alleges.

"Once she's part of the company, then on the outside she can't be bashing Trump", Pecker told the New Yorker previous year. The fitness model claims that AMI then turned around and wanted to purchase her story about her alleged affair with Trump after all.

"AMI lied to me, made empty promises, and repeatedly intimidated and manipulated me", McDougal, who was Playboy magazine's 1998 Playmate of the Year, said in a statement today. The 2016 agreement did not require the Enquirer to run the story but effectively muted McDougal on the matter.

McDougal negotiated with the country's leading tabloid news provider, American Media, which is known to buy and bury stories that might damage friends and allies of its chief executive, David J. Pecker, a practice known as "catch and kill".

The complaint is the second this month by a woman claiming Trump and his cohort have tried to keep them from talking about alleged extramarital affairs with the president before he was elected. The president has firmly denied the women's claims.

In an email to The New York Times, her new lawyer, Peter K. Stris, accused American Media of "a multifaceted effort to silence Karen McDougal".

When it became clear that McDougal was in talks with in negotiations with ABC and investigative journalist Brian Ross to tell her story, American Media offered her a contract for $150,000 to appear on the cover of "Men's Fitness" and "Muscle and Fitness Hers" and for her to write a monthly column, according to the lawsuit, which includes copies of the contract with American Media for the column.

She claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006. Cohen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hopefully McDougal gets out of this contract, so we can hear every disgusting detail about the affair, like we deserve she can move on with her life, like she deserves.
