Another explosion injures two in Austin, Tex

Police Plea to Austin Bomber: 'We Want to Listen to You'

The four bombings that have killed two people and injured four others in Texas' capital city this month are believed to be the work of a serial bomber.

TWO people have been killed and four others injured after a series of four explosions across the same city in the past month.

Manley told the press that the Travis Country neighborhood would be placed on lockdown until 2:00 p.m. Monday, and that he was requesting video footage from the private surveillance systems of nearby houses.

Unlike the previous three package bombs, the Sunday explosion appears to have been triggered by a tripwire. Although investigators wouldn't immediately confirm what caused the blast, Austin's police chief, Brian Manley, said "a device" was responsible and again warned the public not to touch any unexpected packages left at their homes.

And two men were were rushed to hospital after the latest explosion on Sunday which involved a package left on the side of the road. "We are all vulnerable, we are all one person". Police have not discovered a motive in the bombings and have not been willing to classify the explosions as hate-related.

As police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and ATF investigate these possibly linked explosions, a $115,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information regarding the cases. The concert promoter canceled the event, which featured the band The Roots, due to "an overabundance of caution", Manley said.

The police chief said the tripwire meant it was a more sophisticated device requiring a higher level of skill to construct than the previous bombs.

"It is very possible that this device is a device that was activated by someone either handling, kicking or coming in contact with a tripwire activating the device", Manley said earlier.

He added that the most recent attack is why police didn't release details on the package bombs, so that Austin residents wouldn't be looking for only one kind of suspicious device.

Austin Mayor Steve Adler declined to say if the increased reward possibly prompted the latest explosion because "there's not enough data to know that".

Sunday's explosion occurred far from the first three blasts, which happened in separate, suburban neighbourhoods in the eastern part of the city. Manley said they'll get a better idea with a post-blast analysis and examination of the device components.

Milanowski said that investigators have investigated over 500 leads since the bombings began and that there have been "persons of interest" in the cases, though they have so far not led to much.

"What we have seen here is a significant change from what appeared to be three targeted attacks to an attack that could have harmed anyone", Manley said.

Speaking from her Travis Country residence today, Austin (the agent) said she was keeping her freshman daughter at home today.

"We're not believing that this was similar to previous ones, as in packages left on doorsteps".

"We're going to find out who is responsible for this and we're going to stop it", he said.

The PGA Tour, which is staging the Dell Match Play Championship in Austin, Texas, this week, says its security advisers are collaborating closely with law enforcement to try to ensure the safety of players and fans.

He then said he wanted to tap into the psyche of the bomber or bombers. At this point we don't have any specifics leading us to one suspect.

The victims of the earlier bombings include Draylen Mason, 17, an orchestral musician and notable essay victor, and Anthony Stephan House, a 39-year-old father.
