Archbishop of Canterbury fears dropping ring during Harry and Meghan's wedding

Commonwealth Day- How to watch A Service of Celebration for Commonwealth Day

Prince Harry has reportedly refused to sign a prenup ahead of his May 19 wedding to American actress Meghan Markle.

The 33-year-old prince - now fifth in line to the British throne - has reportedly been urged to safeguard his almost $42 million chunk of the Windsor millions should wedded bliss go bad with once-divorced actress Meghan Markle, 36.

The royal wedding service will be conducted by David Connor, the Dean of Windsor with the Archbishop presiding as Prince Harry and Markle make their vows.

Harry's reported decision comes after rumors were swirling that courtiers wanted him to sign a prenup to protect his millions and although the popular agreements are not mandatory in the United Kingdom, they are considered during divorce cases.

'There was never any question in Harry's mind that he would sign a prenup. "He's determined that his marriage will be a lasting one, so there's no need for him to sign anything". Harry inherited $10 million from his mother's estate when he turned 30 and he is believed to have another $20 million, the outlet reported. Meghan has earned an estimated £4M fortune during her successful acting career.

The news is in sharp contrast to a report by another daily that a prenup was being drawn up since both Harry and Meghan have their respective assets to safeguard.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have a messy financial situation after they get married.

After her wedding to Prince Harry in May, the duchess' wardrobe expenses will be taken from a fund that Prince Charles gives to his sons and their respective wives.

ReutersMeghan Markle arrived at Westminster Abbey after she was baptised by the archbishop of Canterbury earlier this month. Due to the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, the first six people in the line of the throne must have the Queen's consent before they can marry.
