Border Wall Prototypes Finally Revealed As Donald Trump Visits Mexico-US Line

Captured undocumented immigrants walk past a stretch of border levee wall while being taken into custody by Border Patrol agents

President Donald Trump's motorcade Tuesday zipped past demonstrators who both jeered and cheered him and his plans for a "big attractive border wall" after he inspected prototypes.

Trump said the first thing he noticed on the drive to view the prototypes was the patched-up holes in part of the existing fence at the border.

Asked recently at an event with reporters, Department of Homeland Security officials wouldn't specify what role the President would have in choosing among the prototypes.

Immigrant activists, church leaders and elected officials held a news conference at the city's historic Chicano Park to call for demonstrations to show border communities do not support a wall.

On the other side of the border, a small group of anti-Trump protesters vented their frustration, and announced plans to boycott United States businesses over the frontier.

Trump also noted that he owns property in California - a home in Beverly Hills and a golf club in Rancho Palos Verdes. Building a wall along the border with Mexico was a central campaign issue for Trump, who said the wall will help fight drug trafficking and unauthorized immigration.

At least two protests and rallies planned at different locations today, with organizers making their plans based on expectations of where and when Trump will pass by.

Long before the president arrived, demonstrators - for and against - prepared to greet him. He says taxes in California "are double and triple what they should be". Thousands of risky & violent criminal aliens are released as a result of sanctuary policies, set free to prey on innocent Americans.

"You see, in California we are focusing on bridges, not walls", Brown wrote.

Trump's visit comes after Attorney General Jeff Sessions last week sued California over three of its so-called sanctuary laws. "The criminals take refuge in these sanctuary cities and it's very unsafe for our police and enforcement folks, " he said. He will also attend a fundraiser in Los Angeles, where he will stay overnight.

Meanwhile, anti-Trump protesters gathered near the Plaza Las Americas mall in San Ysidro with signs including "love has no borders" and "no hate in the Golden State".

On the other side of the border, in Tijuana, Mexico, residents laughed off the idea the monolithic slabs will stop desperate immigrants.

At San Ysidro, 21-year-old Jose Gonzalez expressed his displeasure with Trump's policy. Jerry Brown, saying the Democrat has done a "terrible" job running the state, leading to exorbitant taxes and sanctuary cities that protect criminals. Thomas Homan, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's acting director, singled out Brown, Sen. He crosses the border from Mexico daily to work at a San Diego restaurant.

Jill Green holds a sign during a rally against a scheduled upcoming visit by President Donald Trump, Monday, March 12, 2018, in San Diego.

The eight prototypes represent a cornerstone of Trump's campaign promise to build a "big, handsome wall" across the 2,000-mile southwestern US border.

However, 48-year-old Army veteran Mark Prieto criticized the protesters.

Trump also says that "very soon we're going to Mars", and that that wouldn't be happening if his 2016 rival, Hillary Clinton, had won.

"I have friends who have lost children at the hands of illegal aliens that were protected by sanctuary policies, yet all we hear from the left are stories about poor illegals".

The scene was quiet on both sides of the border Tuesday morning as Trump flew to San Diego.

Robin Hvidston, California State Coordinator for the Remembrance Project, told Breitbart News: "I think it's great, symbolically, that [President Trump]'s coming to the California border, especially after the announcement by the Justice Department". Hai Do was the editor. "In 2019, we want to give you your largest pay raise in over a decade", Trump promised.
