The Miami Dolphins trade for Rams defensive end Robert Quinn

Miami bound DE Robert Quinn has been traded from the Rams to the Dolphins. More

Curiously, Miami acquired Hayes past year in a trade with the Rams.

The Los Angeles Rams traded Robert Quinn to the Miami Dolphins on Friday. He was drafted by the then-St.

Quinn, 27, was the 14th overall pick in the 2011 draft. Last season, Quinn recorded 8.5 sacks over 15 games (14 starts).

The Rams will reportedly receive a mid-round pick from the Dolphins, who have one selection in the third and two in the fourth.

Plus, as mentioned before, the decision to trade Quinn will draw plenty of speculation that a new deal for Donald could be coming sooner rather than later now that Los Angeles has cleared up some cap space.

Trumaine Johnson and Nickell Robey-Coleman are two of the Rams' top cornerbacks, and both are unrestricted free agents this offseason. Getting a big year out of Quinn in 2018 could go a long way in helping to repeat those types of results. But he stayed healthy a year ago and played some of his most productive football late in the season, with six sacks over the course of his last five regular-season games. In Miami, Quinn will form a formidable pass rush duo alongside Cameron Wake.

But until bouncing back this past season, Quinn would combine to play in just 17 games between the 2015-16 campaigns. It was a weakness last season, as the Dolphins finished 26th in the league with only 30 sacks, including 10.5 by Wake.

With Peters' cap hit this season just around $1.7 million, and Talib's at $12 million, they would likely be getting both Peters and Talib at a cheaper rate than Trumaine Johnson is going to be making this year alone. The move eliminates a need for defensive end help unless of course the Dolphins decide to release one of their current DE's.
