Jessica Falkholt's life support switched off

Home & Away actress Jessica Falkholt has died aged 29

Annabelle, 21, passed away three days after the accident.

As Jessica fought for life in the Intensive Care Unit at St George Hospital, her family had been by her side and it is being reported she was surrounded by her loved ones when the decision was made to switch off the life support.

Ms Falkholt, 28, remains fighting for her life in Sydney's St George Hospital after the accident.

Earlier in the week, hundreds of mourners had attended the funeral service of Jessica's mother Vivian, 60, father Lars, 69 and sister Annabelle, 21, at Saint Mary's Church in Concord, Sydney.

"Rest in peace, attractive Jessica Falkholt", a tweet on the "Home and Away" Twitter page reads.

Police continue to investigate the crash, which also claimed the life of 50-year-old Craig Whitall, who was driving the other vehicle and died instantly.

Falkholt played Hope Morrison on the popular soap opera Home and Away, and the show paid tribute to her on Twitter with a simple message: "Rest in peace, lovely Jessica Falkholt". Multiple surgeries were performed to save her life, including removing a kidney and part of her skull.

"This film will be dedicated to Jess and her family so their memory will live on and her talents are appreciated around Australia and the world". He had previously been subject to a nine-year driving ban and had at least 10 convictions for driving while disqualified.

Paul Ponticello, Vivian's brother, gave a eulogy at the funeral.

Family members of Vivian's family flew from Italy for the service, while a service was also held for Lars in his homeland of Sweden.

Mr Whitall, a P-plater, was reportedly driving home from a methadone clinic when the collision occurred.

Jessica found fame after appearing as Hope Morrison on Home and Away in 2016, also starring in upcoming supernatural thriller Harmony, which is due for release in 2018.
