Cape Town - Ladies and gents, Justin Timberlake is back. How exactly a song titled "Filthy" fits in with this theme is not exactly clear as of yet.

"Filthy" began trending on Twitter soon after the track and its music video dropped at midnight, as the pop superstar's followers turned it up en masse.

The electro-funk infused track has been accompanied by a video that's suitably futuristic - with Timberlake taking the role of a Steve Jobs style inventor.

Timberlake announced his new album on Tuesday, revealing that it was inspired by his wife, Jessica Biel, and their son, Silas. Pharrell can be seen in the album trailer adamantly exclaiming, "That is a smash". This is the 36-year-old singer's first album in 5 years.

If you follow Justin Timberlake on social media, you already know that he has been teasing something new.

"Man of the Woods" will drop February 2, just two days before Timberlake takes the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show.

"Man of the Woods" arrives February 2, two days before Timberlake performs at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Minneapolis. In 2016, he released the single 'Can't Stop The Feeling!', which featured on the soundtrack for the movie Trolls.
