Ivanka Trump high school visit upsets CT parents

This should have been brought to our attention although I do understand security reasons' said parent Karey Fitzgerald.'I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home

First daughter and presidential adviser Ivanka Trump made a surprise visit to a CT high school - prompting some parents who oppose President Donald Trump's agenda to yank their kids from classes Monday.

Ivanka stopped by the Norwalk school in order to discuss the importance of career education - a platform she hopes will take at schools around the country.

Trump was joined by IBM CEO Ginni Rometty at Norwalk Early College Academy, a program at Norwalk High School where students simultaneously complete their high school work while studying software engineering and pursuing associate's degrees.

Despite the lack of notice, some parents were able to pull their kids from class once they were told of Ivanka's visit.

"This should have been brought to our attention", Karey Fitzgerald told Connecticut's News 12. The visit was kept quiet due to security concerns, according toNew Jersey's News 12, which spoke with one parent who wished she was notified about the event.

"To see the passion and enthusiasm for bringing real life skills into a classroom environment but then coupling it with real life experience through internship creates this really lovely virtuous angle", she says.

Trump said it was an honor to meet with the students and that their education model will enable them to thrive in the modern economy. "Thank you Ivanka", she wrote. The First Daughter's visit to the school was part of her campaign to promote and fund STEM and computer science fields, as it was reported that Ivanka made the fields a priority within Donald's administration. It's something He will never forget.
