Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle in May

GETTY
SECURITY NIGHTMARE Wills will have to hot foot it across London to make both events

Just a few short weeks ago, the world learned that Prince Harry would soon be off the market as he had proposed to his American girlfriend, actress Meghan Markle.

While less high-profile fans might be able to sneak away during the disco with a tin or two of lager to find a television, the British public is more used to seeing Prince William at the Wembley match in person in his capacity as president of the Football Association.

But next year, William, who is tipped to be Harry's best man, looks likely to be otherwise engaged with wedding duties.

The Football Association (FA), the group that organizes the cup, isn't anxious about the conflict.

Queen Elizabeth's grandson, who's fifth in line to the throne, and Meghan, known for her leading role in U.S. TV legal drama Suits, announced their engagement late last month.

In a joint interview last month, Markle said Harry proposed over a roast-chicken dinner at home.

The couple chose a springtime Saturday for their wedding and a venue that holds a central place in the history of the royal family.

Markle, 36, has shown off a three-stone yellow-gold engagement ring, designed by Harry, 33, himself with a diamond from Botswana plus two diamonds taken from the personal collection of his later mother, Princess Diana.

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been announced for May 19 next year - and it clashes with the FA Cup final.

Markle is to be baptized in the Church of England before the wedding, and has said she will acquire British citizenship.
