WWE's Rich Swann arrested on false imprisonment, battery allegations

WWE Superstar Rich Swann Arrested for Kidnapping and False Imprisonment

According to the police report that Gainesville PD provided, the incident was between Swann and his wife Vannarah Riggs, who is also a professional wrestler on the independent circuit. Swann was driving a auto and apparently began critiquing Riggs' performance at a wrestling show, earlier in the night. One witness stated they saw the vehicle Swann was driving become erratically and stopped suddenly in the middle of traffic.

A witness told police that the victim's wife jumped out of Swann's slowly moving vehicle. He told cops that needed to get home, and that his wife had a phone with Global Positioning System, so he needed her to accompany him.

The former one-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion was arrested in Florida and is due to appear in court Monday. While this was happening, witnesses say that Swann's auto continued rolling and crashed into a telephone pole.

Following the arrest, Swann (according to the report) denied physically touching Yung, or forcing her back into the auto. The Gainesville Florida police department released the official police report concerning the case.

That's when Swann grabbed Riggs by the arm and put his arm around her neck, police said. Swann then grabbed her, placing her in a headlock, and dragged her back to the vehicle, according to the report.

Yung later stated Swann "has a temper sometimes" and she fled the situation because she feared physical violence.

Swann and Yung have been married for nine months after being in a romantic relationship for about five years.

The policy states: "WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault".

Swann was set to face Drew Gulak on Raw in a match to determine the #1 contender for Enzo Amore's Cruiserweight Championship, though that match is obviously cancelled at this point.

Following Rich Swann's arrest for battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment, WWE has responded swiftly to the incident. Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended.
