Hannibal Buress' Arrest Caught on Video

Comedian Hannibal Burress Arrested in Miami, Tells Cop

Popular comedian Hannibal Buress was arrested Saturday night in Wynwood on a disorderly intoxication charge after an encounter with a police officer.

According to the Miami Herald, Buress was booked into the Miami Dade Jail at 1:57 a.m. Sunday and released just before 6 a.m. on $500 bail.

Buress refused to get in the police vehicle, forcing the arresting officers to push him inside the patrol unit. He screams at the officers, "Am I under arrest?"

He continues to yell at the officers and asks why they're "detaining him", and finally, the policeman says for "trespassing". "Explain what Im detained for".

Hello Billy, Mr. Buress was arrested for disorderly intoxication, on December 9, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Per the above bystander-recorded video footage, Buress demands to know what probable cause the police have to arrest him. Take the handcuffs off of me, I didn't do anything. The arrest spawned the Twitter hashtag "Free Hannibal Buress".

However, Miami Beach is hosting the Art Basel worldwide art fair this weekend, which draws celebrities from around the world.

The confrontation allegedly started after the comedian approached one of the cops with bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol and asked him to call an Uber, according to TMZ. The video begins after Buress was already cuffed. When the officer declined, Buress became "angry and belligerent". When the officer declined, Buress went into a venue and the officer followed him, feeling he was too intoxicated to remain. He is also known for talking on stage about rumors of sexual assaults by comedian Bill Cosby, who was later accused publicly by several women. This year he was featured in the films "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Baywatch".
