Alabama Senate race too close to call

Rallying supporters at a venue just 20 minutes away from the Alabama border, President Trump sought to discredit one of the women accusing Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual misconduct in calling on Alabama voters to vote for the Moore in the upcoming special election.

Attorney Gloria Allred (R) and Beverly Young Nelson hold up a picture showing a message and a signature of Roy Moore during a press conference on November 13, 2017, in NY, alledging that Roy Moore sexually assaulted Nelson when she was a minor in Alabama without her consent.

"A lot of people don't vote because they think their vote don't count", Ebonique Jiles, 27, said after promising a Jones volunteer she would support the Democrat in Tuesday's election.

Trump, who overcame allegations of sexual misconduct to win last year's presidential election, looked past the charges against Moore and formally endorsed the former Alabama judge this past week for the seat once held by Jeff Sessions, now US attorney general. "She started writing things in the yearbook". "Jones will always vote against what we must do for our Country", Trump wrote.

"Get out and vote for Roy Moore - do it, do it, do it", Trump urged the crowd in the middle of his near-80 minutes of mostly-prepared remarks. You know, the yearbook?

Mr Shah said the president and White House have made clear that the Moore allegations are "troubling and concerning" and "should be taken seriously". But the location - so close to the Alabama state line and feeding its television markets - stoked speculation that it was a backdoor way for the president to boost Moore's campaign without actually setting foot in the state.

Moore's campaign has been battling allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct, harassment or dated women when they were teenagers in the 1970s when he was an assistant district attorney in Etowah County, with the youngest alleged victim being 14 years old at the time.

"We can not lose a seat in the very, very close United States senate".

"Did you see what happened today?"

"To a sweeter more lovely girl I could not say Merry Christmas". The president didn't have much of anything to say on Moore's behalf, however, other than to point out he would be a reliable pro-Trump vote in the Senate.

Republicans hold a 52-48 majority in the Senate.

Moore faces allegations of sexual misconduct from numerous women-aaccusations his opponent, Doug Jones, has used to gain voters' support. If a Democrat won a Senate seat in Alabama for the first time in 30-some years, Trump could technically distance himself from the loser by saying he didn't campaign for him.

Ivey's predecessor, Robert Bentley, appointed then-Attorney General Luther Strange to the seat and said the election would coincide with the 2018 scheduled elections.

Trump later continued: "We love our veterans".

For those voters who believe the accusations against Moore, there is a third option aside from him or Jones: write in another candidate.

"You don't even want to say people", Mr Trump said.

He'd once claimed that former President Barack Obama had tapped his phones in Trump Tower.

"They're on the right track", he said.
