Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is back with an exciting game mode

OW Winter 009

All the new skins will appear alongside last year's skins so you can potentially hoover up any that you missed last time around. Those two will make a return, while the Arena map Black Forest will also receive one of these seasonal passes.

Kaplan also hinted at the arrival of a new, "long-awaited" Hanzo skin, previously seen in one of the Overwatch comics.

The return of Overwatch's Winer Wonderland event has officially been announced by developer Blizzard and we already got a small taste of what we can expect.

It appears that Blizzard has listened and that this skin will be coming to the Winter Wonderland event that drops next week.

The highlight of the patch is the new winter-themed skins available to several of the characters. Also making a comeback in this year's edition of the Winter Wonderland Event is the "Mei's Snowball Offensive". Well, it's a good thing I did, as I can now report that we're headed to a Winter Wonderland! Mei's Snowball Offensive is moving to 6v6 on The Black Forest, where it has been changed to single elimination mode.

As with last year's Winter Wonderland event, the special holiday period will likely come to a conclusion on January 2, giving players around three weeks to earn all of the game's new cosmetic items.

In Mei's Yeti Hunt five Mei players will be battling against one Yeti-themed Winston, all controlled by different players. Should he survive for long enough to gather all the meat, the Yeti can activate Primal Rage, at which point the Mei team learns what it feels like to be prey. If Winston, an innocent yeti who's just trying to live his life, man, falls amidst the Meis' blizzard of senseless violence, then they win.

Once triggered, the Mei's have to run for their lives and try to escape the angry Yeti.

"I know a lot of you are thinking it sounds kind of ridiculous and kind of silly, and I'm here to tell you it absolutely is", Kaplan said.
