There's a limited edition OnePlus 5T for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition launched in India sale on December 15

On Saturday, OnePlus announced the launch of the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition at the Comic Con-Event in Bengaluru.

The silver-grey edges and back panel are there to evoke the colours and style of the rather unique lightsaber main antagonist and pseudo emo-Sith Kylo Ren uses in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. OnePlus 5T will come in two variants, the first one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage while the second variant will come with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition is no different from the regular model in terms of hardware or software.

India has a huge Star Wars fanbase, and the post inevitably kicked off speculation that OnePlus was working on a flagship with livery from the storied franchise.

You may have heard of the Star Wars emblazoned OnePlus 5T that has been announced in India over the weekend, but we have now had confirmation it won't be coming to either the United States or UK.

To celebrate the launch, OnePlus has an event in Mumbai on December 14 at Carnival IMAX, Wadala. You can be a part of the event by booking the tickets for Rs 999 on Paytm, starting December 7 from 10:00 am onwards. It carries the logo of Star Wars on its back cover and is styled in black and white, that pays homage to the style of Stormtroopers. They have also colored the alert slider on the left in red.

As for the availability, the smartphone will go on sale the same day as the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is on December 15.

It is no surprise that the Chinese company has chosen India for the launch of the special edition phone. All OnePlus 5T phones are carrier-unlocked so you can pop your GSM-ready SIM card into it if you somehow manage to get one, but it's still odd to see these special variants limited to select countries.

The company will make their Logo of OnePlus just below the camera as usual.

OnePlus has announced a new version of its OnePlus 5T phone.
