Manhunt in NYC after car rams into people, several reported killed & injured

Police stand guard after one person was killed and at least two injured when a hit-and-run driver slammed into a crowd outside XS NYC at 129th St. and Liberty Ave. early Sunday.

Police said two other people were stabbed during the fight and are at the hospital.

"I just saw a couple of kids, just fighting", she said. "There was screaming before the auto started driving, by the sidewalk".

The reasons behind the incident are still unknown, as the search for the suspect who reportedly drove a white Hyundai Sonata is now underway.

The person who died was pronounced dead at the scene while five injured were transported to an area hospital, according to police. They were all screaming, it was insane. The pair were recovering and in stable condition. Police are searching for the driver, who they say had his hair in a ponytail.

Police said two people got into a fight and stabbed each other before the deadly hit-and-run.

Queens resident Milagros Urbina told CBS New York that she heard some screaming before she saw the vehicle barreling down the sidewalk. It wasn't immediately clear if the arrest was in connection with the stabbing or the crash.
