The main focus of this partnership "will allow PUBG Corp.to cooperate with Tencent, which has successfully developed and published various large-scale online games, on securing a stable network system, the expansion of servers, enhancing anti-cheat prevention technologies and more".

The popularity of PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds has been well documented, with the game having sold over 20,000,000 copies despite being in early access.

Tencent winning its bid to officially release the title over in China does come with the condition that it does not break these values. As translated by Reuters (and grabbed by Polygon), the game will in fact be modified to take "socialist core values, Chinese traditional culture and moral rules" into consideration.

"The slogans also include excerpts from the report delivered at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that reflects China's core values", the paper found. Tencent has also partnered with other Korean game makers.

A statement from Tencent publicly assured that PUBG would highlight "healthy, positive cultural and value guidance, especially for underage users" through teamwork and fair competition.
