Bournemouth score last-gasp victor at Newcastle

Jacob Murphy of Newcastle United during the Premier League match between Burnley and Newcastle United at Turf Moor

Steve Cook's last-gasp header helped Bournemouth move out of the Premier League's bottom three thanks to a 1-0 win over Newcastle United. Both sides could have won it I suppose, the first half they were better than us, I wouldn't say we were fortunate to come in 0-0 but we needed to up our game.

Callum Wilson missed a great one on one and Marc Pugh hit the post late on, before Cook's thumping header stole the points for the visitors to lift the Cherries out of the relegation zone ahead of the worldwide break.

Defender Cook powered home from a corner in the second added minute to hand Eddie Howe's visitors a third Premier League win of the season.

"We did, and how we didn't seal the game earlier was like us this season, we haven't been clinical enough and you felt it could be another day like that".

"Back-to-back away wins are huge, our record has not been good". We'll take any win, regardless of how they come.

"It's obviously worse in the last game, but being in the bottom three is psychologically hard".

"That was the Josh King of last season".

The Cherries will have to do without the services of Benik Afobe and Junior Stanislas for the trip to Newcastle, as they have been ruled out with respective thigh and groin injuries, although Callum Wilson could earn his first league start since January, as he steps up his recovery from a serious knee issue.

Ritchie has become a firm fan favourite since making the move from The Cherries last summer and looked to get one over his old side inside five minutes, there didn't looked to be much on as he picked up on the right but made a decision to follow the cry of shoot, hitting a sweet effort from 30 yards with only a fingertip save from Asmir Begović denying him.

"We have created chances in every game, you have to score".

"Scoring goals breeds confidence and we're working on that but I don't think it's a huge issue in terms of confidence at this stage".
