The Conspiracy Behind OJ Simpson's Release from Prison

O.J. Simpson Granted Parole At Hearing

However, the Nevada Parole Board granted him his parole in July by serving prison a portion of his 33-year sentence through possessing good behavior and attending classes inside the jail.

Simpson was released at 12:08 a.m. PDT from Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada, state prisons spokeswoman Brooke Keast told The Associated Press. In an interview with Fox and Friends, Bondi said, "He wants to come to Florida and golf all over our state, and I don't want that to happen".

Simpson won parole in July from a state parole board that set Sunday as the date he became eligible for parole.

"I can tell from his voice on the phone last night that he's looking forward to freedom and hugging his family on the outside", LaVergne said.

Simpson was recently released from prison on 2008 kidnapping and armed robbery charges and has requested to move back to Florida, where he lived when he was arrested and where his grown children now live.

The Nevada Department of Corrections, seeking to avoid the kind of media frenzy that often accompanies Simpson, has declined to say exactly when and where he would be released.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said Sunday morning that the newly paroled Simpson is not welcome there.

Neither Simpson's attorney, Malcolm LaVergne in Las Vegas, nor state Parole and Probation Capt. Shawn Arruti, who has been handling Simpson's case, immediately responded to messages.

In terms of his living conditions, he could for the time being live in Las Vegas. The trial involving OJ Simpson at the time was known around the world. Bondi told "Fox and Friends" that she might have no legal way to keep Simpson out.

It's a new chapter for the one-time pop culture phenomenon whose fame was once again on display when the major TV networks carried his parole hearing live. Two: "I'm in a auto for the last five hours so how do I know how it feels to be out", replied Simpson.

The former National Football League player, who became infamous after his 1995 trial and acquittal for murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, has plans to move to Florida, where he once lived.

"We will continue pursuing the now $60 million judgment awarded to our family after the jury found that Simpson willfully and wrongfully caused the deaths of Ron and Nicole, as well as remain dedicated in our commitment to domestic violence awareness, victim advocacy and judicial reform". LaVergne didn't specify where the former sports and movie star would live, although Tom Scotto, a close friend who lives in Naples, Florida, has offered his home.

He was found not guilty in 1995 following the sensational, 13-month trial in Los Angeles, which was televised live daily and transfixed much of the country.
