Manchester City Striker Sergio Aguero Injured In Car Crash

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, has confirmed he sustained a broken rib in the auto crash that happened Thursday night.

Early reports from Holland have claimed Aguero suffered a fractured rib, which could potentially rule him out for two months, but there has been no official confirmation of this.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has played down Sergio Aguero's midweek trip to Amsterdam so close to their crunch game with Chelsea.

Sergio Aguero has confirmed he has a broken rib, but that his injuries could have been worse after he was involved in a road accident in Amsterdam on Thursady.

However, he looks set to miss the Premier League clash this weekend and Argentina's World Cup Qualifying ties against Peru and Ecuador at the start of October.

The news serves as a double blow to EPL title challengers Manchester City after the club recently announced that their top defender, Benjamin Mendy, will miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his knee ligaments.

Amsterdam police spokesman Frans Zuiderhoek told AFP that officers attended an accident in the city at around 11pm (2100 GMT) on Thursday after "a taxi-cab hit a lamp-post". "Tomorrow I think their support will be very important".

Missing at least 11 games, Aguero spoke to Radio Metro de Argentina and said: "The taxi driver did not see the curve and skid".

"He's the only player in my mind when it comes to the first goalscorer market - and I fancy United to get loads againsrt Crystal Palace". "I'll be discharged in a little while".

Guardiola admitted he had no problem with Aguero spending a day off overseas, saying: "A day off is to be happy".

Hazard was in fine form on Wednesday as Chelsea became the first English team to win at Atletico with a 2-1 success in the Champions League.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus man has netted seven goals during his seven appearances in all competitions since his summer switch, including a hat-trick at Stoke City during his last Premier League outing.
