Baxter later died from his injuries and Howard is in grave condition, Kissimmee police department said on Twitter.

Howard died off his wounds Saturday. According to the outlet, both troopers were hospitalized and remain in stable condition, and the suspect was reportedly killed.

In a string of shootings across the country on Friday, one police officer was fatally shot and five other cops were wounded, reports NBC News.

Two Pennsylvania state troopers were shot as they were serving a warrant in Fairchance, Fayette County, in southwest Pennsylvania on the border with West Virginia and Maryland.

Two Kissimmee police officers have been killed and after what authorities said was an ambush-style shooting Friday night. Miller, 45, was charged with murder, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest. The shootings are not related, authorities said.

When shots were fired the officers did not have an opportunity to respond.

They found a handgun and revolver on him.

Miller started reaching towards his waistband when the deputies tackled and subdued him, Mr O'Dell said. In northeastern Florida, two officers were shot, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced. Miller, who has no criminal record in Florida, was enlisted in the Marines from 1989 to 2010, according to military records.

"This is devastating to law enforcement and heart breaking", O'Dell said. "We will get through this and we love them for what they do", he added.

"You can poke a tie up dog for so long", Miller wrote. The early stages of the investigation shows that Miller had made threats to law enforcement on Facebook, O'Dell said. Mr Trump, a staunch supporter of USA law enforcement, tweeted early on Saturday.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Director Mike Bruno said the officers arrived to find a man armed with a high-powered rifle when one officer was struck in both of his hands and the other was hit in his stomach as they exchanged gunfire with the suspect. Howard, 36, had one child. They both later died from their wounds.

As they approached the house and attempted to enter one of the doorways, "the suspect began shooting through the door at the officers". "They were the epitome of what you ask for in law enforcement officers".

Following the news of the shooting, President Donald Trump tweeted his condolences.

O'Dell said he has been in contact with Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Attorney General Pam Bondi. One of the original three suspects fled and was being sought, and the other three were arrested.
