Trump's Approval Rating Craters, Down to Only 33% in Latest Poll

Losing the White Working Class, Too

But there's at least one hot-button issue they're in wide agreement on: President Donald Trump shouldn't ban transgender people from the U.S. military.

Voters in a new POLITICO poll disagree with his tweet that there is no "chaos" in his White House, 60% of voters say the administration is running somewhat or very chaotically, in comparison with 33% who say it is running well. Gallup shows Trump with a 36 percent approval rating and 60 percent disapproval rating.

The poll was conducted from July 27 to August 1, with the university surveying 1,125 voters nationwide via telephone calls.

Trump's earned his worst score on levelheadedness, with 71 -26 percent of voters saying they believe he is not levelheaded. What's more, 55% of voters in military households said transgender people should be able to serve. "Voters say a soldier is a soldier, no matter what his/her gender identity is".

Quinnipiac said its polling showed that the 80-year-old Arizona senator, who lost the presidential race to Obama in 2008, now holds a 57-to-32 percent favorable rating among American voters. Democrats are facing a double-whammy: They're still experiencing resistance among moderate voters in suburban swing districts over tax-and-spend economic policies. FiveThirtyEight, the polling website spearheaded by statistician Nate Silver, estimated that Rasmussen had a mean-reverted bias that skewed conservative by two percentage points.

The Department of Commerce reported earlier this month that the USA economy grew at a 2.6 percent annual rate during the April-June quarter, an upward revision that was partly attributed to a boost from trade. Only 2 percent of liberals approve of how Trump is handling his job.

A majority of respondents also said he is not honest, does not have good leadership skills, and does not share their values.

Malloy said of the healthcare results: "Nobody gets high marks ... but Republicans take a crushing blow". "The message: Start over and do it right".

The June 28 national poll found USA voters reject GOP health plan more than 3-1; voters support gun background checks 94-5 percent.
