What Does Senator John McCain's Glioblastoma Diagnosis Mean?

The 80-year-old John Mc Cain was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma an aggressive type of brain cancer according to doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix

McCain tweeted about foreign hot spots in Afghanistan, Poland and Syria, making public his intent to focus on work in Washington instead of his medical issues.

His colleagues say it's not surprising McCain would hurry back to the Senate. "Oh, he better. Otherwise I'll say, 'Tom, you're fired.' I'll get somebody". Republican leaders openly discussed the possibility of McCain's return with reporters on Monday during an evening vote.

The arrival of McCain just days after he was diagnosed with brain cancer gave Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) breathing room because he can lose the votes of two Republicans, instead of just one with McCain absent, and still pass the procedural bill with Vice President Mike Pence's tiebreaker. John McCain's appearance and prodded by President Donald Trump's barbs, Senate Republicans are nearing a dramatic showdown vote Tuesday afternoon to allow them to debate and amend legislation to end Obamacare.

A lot has been written and said about John McCain since Arizona's senior senator announced last week that he was being treated for an aggressive form of brain cancer.

As the 80-year-old McCain entered the chamber, Republicans and Democrats applauded and whooped, with a few hugs for the six-term Arizona lawmaker who is battling brain cancer. McConnell said among them will be the 2015 Obamacare-repeal bill with a two-year delay that was vetoed by then-President Barack Obama. However, the U.S. House recently passed the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2017, a harmful bill that would delay life-saving ozone standards. If McConnell's gambit fails by just one vote, Republicans hope they can take another shot if and when Sen.

Writing on her website, the Senate candidate who is now running against senator Jeff Flake in the 2018 primary, suggested McCain should be spending more time with his family.

"Over and over again, they said, 'Repeal and replace, repeal and replace.' But they can now keep their promise", Trump said. "It just reminds me of what an extraordinarily fearless person he is". Doctors said McCain is recovering from his surgery "amazingly well" and his underlying health is excellent.

Throughout Monday, Senate Republicans offered conflicting statements about McCain appearing for the health-care vote.

To be fair, it is still possible - though unlikely - that McCain is traveling back to Washington to vote against the measure, but he's given no indication that is his plan.

"I think we're going to proceed to debate", Cornyn said.

"Obamacare is the law of the land", House Speaker Paul Ryan declared after the House's health care flame out months ago.

One of the hosts said Ward is already "dancing" on McCain's grave, called her a "vulture" and told her she's "desperate for attention".
