Hamas: Israeli procedures in Aqsa will not pass

Israeli police in the old city of Jerusalem

Dozens of Palestinians been injured in clashes with Israeli forces in East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank amid friction over a Jerusalem holy site.

Earlier, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas said the Palestinian leadership will "freeze contacts" with Israel "on all levels". According to Palestinian officials, hundreds of people were injured in the clashes.

"An assailant infiltrated a private home in the community of Neve Tsuf, northwest of Ramallah, and stabbed four Israeli civilians", the Israeli army said in a statement.

TWO Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli forces in Jerusalem today, medics have announced.

Israeli security forces have killed over 255 Palestinians, many they say were would-be attackers.

The deaths comes amid a large-scale demonstration across East Al-Quds on Friday to denounce new Israeli security measures at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound following a deadly attack last week.

He also criticized the autonomous Palestinian Authority for its role inciting protests.

Palestinian protesters clashed with police at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem's Old City.

The three attackers, from the city of Umm al Fahm, were all killed by Israeli security forces.

Meanwhile, Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has been actively encouraging the global community to demand that Israel dismantle their new security measures and put an end to escalating tensions in the Old City.

Abbas further claimed that Israel, through its actions near Jerusalem's holy sites, was trying to turn the existing political conflict with Palestine into a religious one.

The Temple Mount compound contains the Haram al Sharif area that is holy to Muslims.

They refused to enter, preferring to pray outside, in some cases filling the narrow alleyways of the Old City's Muslim quarter.

The dispute over the metal detectors has led to rising tensions between Israel and the Muslim world, with even friendly Arab nations, such as Jordan, appealing to Israel to remove the devices.
