Man proposes while being arrested, girlfriend says yes

Woman says

Brandon Thompson of Muskogee, Okla., asked for his girlfriend's hand in marriage this week, as police placed him under arrest. The entire encounter was caught on police body camera as Thompson got on one knee, CNN reports. "Can I propose to her?"

The arresting officers ― who cuffed Thompson while he was celebrating not only Independence Day, but also his birthday ― took pity on him.

The officers couldn't believe what was happening but chose to help Thompson during his big moment.

"I asked the officer if I could propose", Thompson later told CNN. "The officer said, "You want to do what?' and I said, 'I want to propose to her.'" Lynch and his partner, Officer Lincoln Anderson, agreed to let him do it". "Will you be my wife, please?" They moved his handcuffs from behind his back to his front so he could put the ring on her finger. She said yes! Oh, and the Muskogee Police Department arrested him too, but whatever, that's a small detail. "I wanted a new start for me and with the police taking me to jail I didn't have to worry about my warrants anymore".

His new fiancee pulled together their savings to bail him out of jail. "I guess it's like an unconditional love".

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 17. Various versions of a proposal, recorded on a police officer's body camera, have taken social media by storm - they show a USA man, arrested and handcuffed by police, proposing to his girlfriend before leaving for jail.

"We all want to see someone get their life on track", said Anderson.

"There's all kinds of situations out here, everybody makes choices everyday". "We care about the city we serve and the people in it".
