Cavs the champs but Warriors the favorites in the NBA Finals

The last team to enter the NBA Finals without a loss was the 2001 Los Angeles Lakers (11-0).

For the third consecutive year, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are facing off with the title on the line.

The Cavaliers flew into San Francisco on Tuesday, taking a team photo once they arrived that Cleveland forward Kevin Love posted on Instagram. The Warriors, who won the title in 2015, are out for revenge.

This is first time in National Basketball Association history that the same opponents have met in three consecutive league finals.

"It's the ultimate rubber match".

The wait finally ends Thursday night. "It's nothing you can take for granted". It was evident during the playoffs which teams are the best in the league. To play the part of Ed McMahon: "How ... big ... is it?"

"But now that we are here, we have business to take care of". "He could have only impacted one team".

The Cavaliers were finally able to win their first National Basketball Association championship in franchise history in 2016. That's because it's hard to complain about money when the best player is severely underpaid yet dancing around with joy.

As for looking at the regular-season series between the Cavs and Warriors, a 1-1 split, there's no much to glean from there.

Look for Golden State to push the pace and make an early statement with a big win and cover. That Yankees' roster was packed with Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Waite Hoyt and Herb Pennock. The Warriors will play their best players for the majority of the minutes and with rest between games fatigue shouldn't come in to play. James has been even better, scoring 32.5 points on almost 57 percent shooting, adding eight rebounds and seven assists per game.

The Warriors also have a likely healthier Curry, their leading scorer.

Despite being named the NBA's first-ever unanimous MVP in 2016, Curry has dealt with other labels his entire career, including being called "soft". "And hopefully we keep it going, but we fully respect and are aware that this team that we're playing, they're the champions and we're not", Kerr said.

He scored more than 20 points only three times in the 2016 Finals and when it counted most in Game 7, it was Kyrie Irving that delivered from long range.

The Warriors and Cleveland have a storied past, to say the least. "So other than that, feeling fresh". Green says he took lessons from what happened a year ago but is not haunted by it. This year they were smarter.

Kevin Durant is the reason.

Brown knows James extremely well from their days together in Cleveland, and he will look to exploit the star's weaknesses in any way he can.

It's no wonder then that the wise guys have installed the Warriors as heavy favorites to beat the Cavs for the second time in three years and wrestle back the Larry O'Brien Trophy that slipped through their hands last June. The Warriors get most of their rebounding from Draymond Green, while the Cavaliers have Tristan Thompson, Kevin Love and LeBron James who are all very good rebounders.

"I don't feel like we're underdogs".

"But I'm not a complacent person".

It's tough to get more even than this. With the 22nd defense of the league and problems with clinching the game, there were doubts if they can get past Boston or even Toronto in the conference semis. Could these teams return in 2018?
