4 militants killed in Rampur sector: Army

On May 1, Pakistan's brutal BAT mutilated the bodies of two Indian soldiers in Krishna Ghati Sector along the LoC, where they had beheaded Lance Naik Hemraj in 2013. According to Kashmir Media Service, the fresh act of state terrorism continued with violent military operation in the Rampur and Uri areas of Baramulla and Pulwana district.

A top commander from the largest rebel group in Indian-administered Kashmir was killed in a gunbattle with government forces on Saturday, police said.

On Saturday, in a separate incident, the Indian army said they had killed six militants who had infiltrated across the border from Pakistan in the Himalayan region.

Sources said that the infiltration bid was foiled at around 8:40 am when soldiers of Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) deployed in the area monitored movement of two armed intruders coming from a Pakistani post.

The clashes broke out soon after the congregational prayers ended at the Jamia Masjid and other nearby mosques and shrines, a police official said.

The almost 16-hour gunfight ended early Saturday when Bhat and his associate were killed.

Indian army Tuesday claimed it had damaged some Pakistani army posts on LoC and described it as "punitive fire assaults".

The armies of India and Pakistan are now at loggerheads with each other, especially along LoC and worldwide border (IB) in Kashmir.

A search operation is still on in Rampur sector, the official said. "Those who have chose to confer the award have done no good to Indian Army or people of India but widened the gulf between them and the people of Kashmir", it maintained.

In September past year, 19 Indian Army soldiers were killed in an attack on an army base in Uri by Pakistani militants, prompting the surgical strikes by India across the LoC.

Two groups of terrorists managed to cross the LoC even during winter when the mountain passes were covered with snow.
