A Flood Watch is still in effect for all of central North Carolina through Wednesday night. Most of the day is going to be dry but some late afternoon and evening storms are possible. As I mentioned Memorial Day has the best chance (60%) for widespread showers and storms which could interrupt your holiday plans.

Highs will pick up Tuesday, with high 60s to low 70s expected through Friday, when we should also see a gradual clearing. Look for highs Thursday to soar into the mid to upper 80s. By mid-afternoon, showers and storms are likely to develop ahead of an approaching area of low pressure with a trailing cold front. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 57.

While no day is expected to be a washout, there can be periods of heavy rain at times. FRIDAY: The low pressure that brings us some wet weather Thursday gradually moves out. Southeast wind 7 to 10 miles per hour.

Memorial Day - Partly sunny, with a high near 73. The high will be 82, winds will be west 8 to 15 miles per hour.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 83. Highs on Thursday won't get out of the low 60s.
