Scream Queens Is Cancelled

All lined up Scream producer Brad Falchuk Jamie Lee Curtis Lea Michele Lourd Roberts Keke Palmer Breslin and Niecy Nash in 2016

Fox co-chairman and CEO Gary Newman confirmed that there are no plans to bring back Ryan Murphy's comedy-horror anthology series for another season.

What happened to Chanel Oberlin in the final moments of the Scream Queens season two finale? We have no plans to go back and tell more stories there.

"'Scream Queens" was an anthological series.

"Ryan told the story of a group of characters... it feels as if it was a complete story", Newman said while confirming the show's cancellation.

Those numbers would continue to dip as the season progressed with the show finishing its run with an average of 1.4 million total viewers and a 0.6 demo rating.

However, keen to give the Chanels another coat of nail polish, we only got a soft reboot from Murphy ahead of Season 2. While the critical response was somewhat more positive, Scream Queens failed to improve upon its dwindling ratings. Despite Scream Queens' impressive pedigree, the Ryan Murphy-led franchise failed to click with viewers. At least in terms of the 2017-2018 broadcast season there is simply no room for the show in the lineup. Keep the conversation going in the comments section below!

Are you surprised Scream Queens was cancelled after 2 seasons?

Scream Queens boasted an all-star cast, including Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis and Glee star Lea Michele, though it was reported in February that Lea had been released from her Fox contract to star in a comedy pilot for rival channel ABC.
