Man holding human head stabs store clerk; mother found dead

Man Stabs Shopper In Grocery Store While Carrying Severed Head

The man who appeared to be holding a human head when he entered an Estacada grocery store and then stabbed an employee remains in the hospital Monday for evaluation, but was expected to be taken later to the Clackamas County Jail, authorities said. Before walking into the store Sunday, he is charged with murdering his mother, 59-year-old Tina Marie Webb, at their home in Colton.

Police believe the stabbing is tied to the murder of a woman found dead in a home in the nearby town of Colton.

The suspect, 36-year-old Joshua Lee Webb, was booked Monday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

The man in the grocery store was covered in blood and subdued by other workers, police said.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says the incidents east of Portland are connected.

Once inside the store, Webb stabbed an employee, Michael Wagner, who was flown to a hospital, according to Sandy Police.

An investigation is underway after the suspect, who has not been identified, reportedly entered the Harvest Market Thriftway in Estacada, Oregon just after 2pm local time on 14 May and allegedly attacked a member of staff with a knife. He lived at home so his parents could care for him, his father said, adding that they had recently bought him a dog because he wanted one. Other employees quickly jumped in and held the man down until police arrived. The suspect is now in stable condition.

Roberts didn't have names of the injured employee or the suspect.

The long term employee remains in hospital where he was treated for stab wounds.

Around 2:35 p.m., approximately 20 minutes after the stabbing at the store, a 911 caller reported the discovery of a woman who appeared to be dead inside the Colton home.

Police did not say whether the body was headless.
