OnePlus 5 confirmed following official teaser from CEO

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau re-blogged a Weibo post, confirming that OnePlus 5 is set to arrive this year.

Even though the upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship killer is expected to keep a huge chunk of the design that made the OnePlus 3 and 3T such popular phones in 2016 and up to now, the leaked images appeared to be kind of edited from a 3T. Having a dual rear camera will help the OnePlus 4 / 5 to really compete with the very best flagships that 2017 has offered us so far.

The report states the OnePlus 5 will sport the trailblazing Snapdragon 835 which concurs to previous rumors.

Recollecting some previous rumours, the device is expected to run Android Nougat out-of-the-box and some reports claim that OnePlus might ditch the metal for ceramic to build their next flagship device. If accurate, this means the OnePlus 5 won't have an all-screen design like the Galaxy S8 and LG G6. Thus, it was assumed that the smartphone will be called OnePlus 5. Kumamoto technology believes the internal storage will be 128 GB at least.

OnePlus made a name for itself by offering high-end flagship killers at affordable prices and it now has a number of smartphones in its roster, with more on the way. The leaker also said that OnePlus's fast charging technology Dash Charge will also be improved by 25% in terms of charging time, according to Phone Arena. And lastly, there are some chances that the OnePlus 5 may not feature the headphone jack. OnePlus' CEO and co-founder Pete Lau posted a teaser on Weibo confirming the company's relentlessly working on its next phone, to "make a big surprise".

None of these specs have been confirmed by OnePlus itself and should be taken with considerable amounts of skepticism. The handset will apparently feature a Full HD display, and should launch by the end of June.
